The adsorption of anatase (used phase of titanium dioxide) and arsenic on species generated from electrocoagulation such as magnetite, lepidocrocite and goethite was studied.Anatase was used to remove cyanide from contaminated water using a photocatalytic process, obtaining 94 % cyanide removal, this process has a disadvantage, since it is difficult to recover the anatase (after cyanide removal) due to the fineness of the anatase particles, to solve this weak point, electrocoagulation is used to efficiently recover the anatase, obtaining 99 % recovery. The metallurgical mining industry generates waste containing heavy metals, such as arsenic, so electrocoagulation was used to remove this contaminant, achieving 99 % arsenic removal.
