george is bilingual

Curious George is a household name for many. This is the classic story, the one that started the series. This tells the story of how the man in the yellow hat got George as a pet. It also tells of George's first adventures as curious little monkey in the city. What is special about this version of the book is that it's bilingual. The story features text in both English and Spanish on each page. This is perfect for bilingual families!

Children's books in Spanish

A friend is teaching her toddler Spanish, he is barely speaking English but is picking up the second language quickly. They loved the two children's books this one and the Green Eggs and Ham in Spanish. The entire family is learning a second language - however the children are doing so much faster and with less effort than the parents. They said the books made it a fun evening reading.

Great book

There are so few of these, especially from an English original. Buy it for your kids to learn more Spanish.

teaching my granddaughter Spanish :)

I bought this for my three-year-old granddaughter at Christmas. She loves it and has developed a pretty good accent (as good as mine, anyhow :) She knows what a bolsa is, and a monito and of course a sombrero amarillo. She has it firmly in mind that balloon = globo, so the globe of the world is like a balloon. Red is rojo and blue is azul. And she hasn't yet taken to smoking a pipe :)What's especially interesting is that she doesn't require that the story be translated, though she does like to talk about what Jorge is up to on a given page. "WHY did the man put Jorge in a bolsa?"

Curious About George?

This book has several key characteristics that make it good for children. For instance the book is very colorful. Books with a lot of color attract kids eyes and excite them. Also this book introduces a comical character who likes to imitate what he sees others doing; this is typical of energetic children. The third is George's adventures, George often finds ways into them and out again before you are done laughing. Children tend to imagine themselves flying high in the sky with balloons or taking a ride on a ship. This character is fun for anyone who cares to remember their youth and imagination.

Many memories will be shared over a good book, starting with the time-honored tradition of the bed-time story. Who here remembers begging their parents to read just one more book? "I promise I will go right to bed after the next one;" "I'm not tired yet;" "But I really like both of the books. I don't want to choose." Do any of these sound familiar?
