Key moments in her life are marked by memorable meals. As they are for all of us--graduation, engagement, your birthday parties, the last meal together....the first meal alone. Some are delicious, others are foul. The author has lived more, and eaten more, than most of us. Tartly british, the book takes us from the food-starved post-rationing 1950s to the panoply of tasty pleasures available today. Throughout it all Lockington is hilariously honest. Definitely a book to savour in the library or the kitchen.
