'Culture Shock' in Indian English Diaspora Writings

Indian literature has always been painted with the colours of cultures ruling the land and its incredibility. The word 'culture' is hybridized with various human emotions. Culture Shock is one such hybridisation that has produced intercultural literature which has crossed the differences in culture and language. And this Literature that has taken birth at the boundary of cultures is Diaspora Literature. Diaspora writings occupy a significant position around cultures and countries. Cultures travel and take root or get dislocated and individuals internalize nostalgia or experience amnesia. Though the immigrant writers share common features, yet the differences based on the condition of their migration and settlement cannot be overlooked. The Diaspora writings are the records of the experiences of the Diaspora communities living in varied socio-cultural settings. The Diaspora Indian writing covers every continent and part of the world. It is an interesting paradox that a great deal of Indian writing covers every continent and part of the world. The writers of the Indian Diaspora include V. S. Naipaul, Salman Rushdie, Rohintan Mistry, Kiran Desai, Agha Shahid Ali and Jhumpa Lahiri.
