She let the cold water hit her broken body and she gasped in shock. Eventually, her body became numb enough to give her some relief. She gently patted herself dry, got dressed and applied some makeup to her swollen and bruised face to hide some of the damage. As she checked herself in the cracked shaving mirror hanging on the shower rail, it seemed to scream back at her, showing up her bruises. She didn't even know why she was trying so hard. She was sure the whole household must have heard the beating last night, but she was confused about why no-one had come to her rescue.
