All religions begin as cults. The word cult is derived from the Latin "cultus," meaning care, cultivation, or worship. Similarly, the cult of the dick is founded on the care, cultivation, and worship of the male member. The patriarchal belief that females are the inferior of the species has been upheld through our laws, religion, and culture, but with the advent of modern science those primitive claims no longer hold true.
