Bruce Epperly succeeds in writing down in very clear words how todays Christians can be inspired and transformed by New Age ideas and vice versa. The larger background for his vision is the kind of process theology as represented by John B. Cobb jr., one of the major authors in this field. The author focusses on themes like 'life after death', 'ethics', 'Christ', 'healing ministry' and 'channeling/prophetism'. Every chapter discusses in a first paragraph the New Age thoughts, followed by a paragraph that gives the christian respons to this, including the lessons both lines of thought can learn (from) each other. Every chapter ends by giving some 'questions for discussion', which makes this book very suitable for educational purposes. Epperly stresses the fact that todays christianity has to take serious the New Age, not as a threat, but as a challenge, a chance to renew itself and to adjust its parlor to this times needs. This book can hold a promise for both christians and New Age adherents, and for their mutual dialogue, to become creative and fruitfull. Many felt the need for these ideas, Epperly wrote them down.
