A True Western Classic From The All-Time Greatest!!

The western has been around a long, long time and it is very hard to come up with something new. Well, Max Brand does just that in Crusader! Even though the book is 80 years old, Brand weaves an unconvetional story that is as fresh today as it was way back when. You get a main character who doesn't appear until about 40 pages in and he's more like Tarzan than a typical cowboy. Plus the novel starts as a boxing story before turning its focus to the west. And the hero is an angry, solitary man looking for trouble, outcast by society and finding redemption through a special horse. And, if that's not enough, you can throw in a little bit of Seabiscuit to sweeten the pot. Like I said, Crusader is unquestionably a western novel but it is so different and out there that it almost defies description. One thing is certain, however: You will be turning the pages and reading well into the night. Crusader is one of the best from an author who epitomizes the best of western fiction.
