Strange events take place in a turn-of-the-century, bed-and-breakfast which begin Austin travel journalist, Campbell Elliot on a roller coaster ride from hell as he unravels a five-year-old unsolved... This description may be from another edition of this product.
The setting for this novel, Austin, Marble Falls, Driscoll Hotel etc. are all places I know imtimately. This is one small reason why I so completely enjoyed reading this book.Kiki Curry's character development is absolutely superb, making the lead figures appear larger than life. Also, the story line of mystery, intrigue, death and corruption is presented with great skill and penmanship. Combine this with the interwoven truths of Native American folklore and you have a true page turner. The pace never lets up from page 1 to the finale.
A Crackin' Good Texas Tale

I have been an avid reader for more years than I care to recall. During that time having read thousands of novels of every genre needless to say there have been as many bombs as wonders. This novel, Crows Calling, would fall, or I should say leap, into the wonder class.I found it a great story filled with vivid characters, riveting story line, lots of excitement, intrigue, mystery, and most of all and underlying earthy Texas humor.Being a retired cop and lifelong Texan I found many characters that I have known in my professional and personal life.If you want days of fun reading a great cliff hanger that will take you to the Texas hill country then don't miss this one.I can't wait for the next one from this lady.
A Twisted Tale of Murder and Murder and Intrigue

If there are 2 things that I really like it is a good mystery and a good comedy- something to keep you quessing and keep you laughing along the way. And this book has both in spades. Throw in the Texas background, and how can you go wrong? You can. I hope there is more to come from this promising new author.

I wanted more!

The author weaves a murderous tale while sprinkling the book with her unusual comedy. By the time I had finished the book, I was ready to read her next one. Her descriptions of the characters kept me interested and always intrigued. Even though early on we know who the murderer is, the the plot unravels in a way that is truely original. I loved her fiendish pair of antagonists. That is where most of the comedy took root. Because of her ability to combine humor with evil in these characters, at times I found myself in the most unusual situation of not knowing whether to laugh or cry; I did both! You will not be disappointed if you purchase this book, and will find yourself a fan like me wanting more.
