In recent years, crowdfunding has become a key driver of social entrepreneurship. Indeed, it represents an innovative approach aimed at making entrepreneurship more human-centred and ethical. Nevertheless, it appears that setting up a social enterprise is a more complicated task than setting up a so-called conventional business, given that the majority of these enterprises face funding constraints closely linked to limited understanding of social enterprises and the social value they generate. This is why crowdfunding could prove to be a valuable alternative for funding projects that create both social and economic value. It is a form of financing that has, by its very nature, become a tool for raising funds dedicated to humanitarian, community-based or solidarity-focused projects.
