Michael Washington is a homicide detective who is passionate about his job. During the investigations of several slain police officers wives, his grandmother is murdered in a home invasion. Along with his younger brother Jamie, who is also a police officer, the two brothers goes after the four gang members responsible for the murder of their grandmother only to realize one of the gang members is related to his brother's wife. Michael and Jamie were taken off the case but continued to investigate the case on their own.
