A sequel to my Novel, Against The Wind, Crossing Roads is the story about a young girls adventure into friendship, relationships, family values, and unconditional love. Eighteen year old Elizabeth once had the reputation around her high school as being a party girl until an incident caused her father to tighten up the rains on her teenage social life. Elizabeth concentrated more on her studies and taking care of her father and younger brother, but she was not happy. She knew there had to be more for her life than what she had settled on. An unexpected phone call from an older boy she knew in high school who had moved away two years earlier becomes the turning point in her life. The boy invites Elizabeth to go to a family wedding with him. Although her estranged father forbids her to go, she packs for a weekend trip to New York. Before she leaves her home in New Jersey, her father tells her, if she leaves, do not even think about coming home again. Despite her troubling mind, Elizabeth goes on her weekend trip and manages to have a good time. At the wedding reception she is introduced to Michael's family as his girlfriend and is treated like a new addition, which ruffles the Brides feathers. Michael and Elizabeth experience their first sexual encounter that night and Michael knows he cannot let this girl walk out of his life again. He asks Elizabeth to stay in New York and live with him in an apartment he shares with his father. Knowing the trouble that looms at home for her, and now falling in love with Michael, she accepts. The young couple begin a journey through a new life together.
