Tip has come to stay in Rosemary Cottage for six months and it seems to be the perfect place to lick her wounds. The cottage and the village are delightfully old-fashioned and remind Tip of her childhood holidays. She's been able to bring her two horses with her and she looks forward to putting the past behind her, relaxing, and beginning to enjoy her life again amongst the glorious, summer countryside. Within days the holiday feeling has deserted her. The village is not as friendly as she thought it would be and she feels her being at Rosemary Cottage is resented. A couple of new friends seem to have an ulterior motive in getting to know her and she begins to think she should never have come. Money is tight, finding a job impossible, and her young horse is proving difficult. Tip feels she is losing her confidence.
