Includes eight chapters of traditional and innovative edgings in popular themes such as fringed, beaded, ruffled and ribbed, as well as a finished design using an edging from each chapter. Softcover. This description may be from another edition of this product.
As an intermediate crocheter, I haven't really done much with edgings but with this book in hand, I'm sure to add them. The edgings are organized by type such as lace. Instructions written out but some have charts where needed. Pattern notes or special stitches are explained next to the edging which needs it. I didn't find any problem understanding the bead chapter. I like the projects included also which use mainly Brown Sheep cotton fleece (light worsted). They include pullover with short sleeves, dishcloth, beaded wrap, spike stitch afghan, poncho doll fringe scarf, purse and baby blanket. This is not for the beginning crocheter but is a great source for crocheters past that level.
Wow

If you have lots of time and lots and lots of yarn, this book is for you. There are so many beautiful edges and trims in this book. Many are very complex and literally eat up a lot of yarn. Worth the effort involved.
A Unique Resource

We really needed a book like this. Thank you to the author! There are plenty of pattern books out there, but this is one you just won't find elsewhere, or at least not that I have seen: it's a book with lots of wonderful edge ideas (as you might suspect). There are also some complete patterns throughout the book to go with your edges. The edging patterns are broken down into type, such as broomstick lace, for example. I think this book is a great "essential" to add to any crocheter's library.
Great ideas to complete crochet items

This book has easy to follow patterns for edgings that can be added with crochet. There are also a few full patterns, using the edgings or expanding some of the edging patterns into full garments or accessories. This is a great resource for those who want to make their crocheted (or even knitted) items look even more special by adding a beautiful edging. I would suggest that this book be used by those who have at least some basic experience with crochet, as it does not go into detail explaining each stitch or abbreviation (such as single crochet or sc, etc.). There is just one page at the end that serves as a "key" for the stitches.
Absolutely awesome book

I just received this book today. It is absolutely awesome. I highly recommend it. Great reference book. Beautiful cables and textured stitches. There are also wonderful patterns of the most up-to-date styles. A definite asset to anyone's library of crochet books. Just by flipping through the pages, it has inspired me to think of so many different projects. I can actually visualize my future creations and can't wait to get to the hook.
