This book was that rare mix of entertainment and information. It gives the reader an opportunity to laugh at the goofy things we do as couples, as well as utilize the lessons other newlyweds have learned. I bought one for a wedding gift for a friend, and one for our bookshelf even though we've been married twelve years.
Humorous, insightful and reflective of just-married life.

Crib Notes for the First Year of Marriage provides an insightful and humorous look at newlywed issues from planning the big event to becoming parents. DeMorier uses real-life examples and hypothetical situations to realistically portray the pleasures and pitfalls of transitioning from single to married life. While not an exhaustive how-to manual, this work is comprehensive in its coverage of common (and often unexpected) hurdles to overcome, and does provide useful advice for such everyday issues as money management, dealing with in-laws and chore division. It is aptly named as a concise treatment of the subject with references for more in-depth information. For the reader contemplating marriage, Crib Notes is a witty and useful guide; for the already married, it is a fun look back with plenty of areas in which to recognize our successes and mistakes
