One lovely spring day in Crescent River, when George Hamer was only eighteen, he met Harriett. In fact, George saved Harriett's life, and that was something neither she nor he could ever forget.

Several years later, in present day, after achieving a master's in engineering and working in the industry, George decides to start his own firm. He moves back to Crescent River, and his best friend, Scott, accompanies him on his new business venture. However, just when George's life couldn't be better, something terrible happens that leaves him in the throes of darkness.

After finding Scott brutally battered, George must fight to keep his world from crumbling-and he will require the strength only faith and love can give him if he's to come out alive.
