Walter Baker arrived in Canada as a 19 year old. He knew no one and had no funds on which to draw except the minimum required for entry as a landed immigrant. He writes of his experiences since then as "a rich and rewarding career as a social worker, an educator, a public service executive, and a management consultant." We can add to that his graduation from Queen's University with an Honours degree in psychology, a Master's degree and Ph.D. in political studies and his role as professor at York, Toronto and Ottawa universities.
