Integrating Yoga and Movement into daily living

Sandy Bothmer's book is a must have for teachers and parents in today's fast paced world, where "teaching to the test" has become mainstream. Sandy incorporates techniques for children, like the spiral, breathing, yoga and movement which children need to survive, stay focused and thrive. I have created a teacher training called "Creative Kids Yoga". This book is required reading for my Level 1 participants, because I believe so strongly in what Sandy has to offer. The best part is that if teachers and paarents integrate this approach into their daily teaching and living..... and it can be done...what a difference it will make for the children, who will grow with more awareness, strength, flexibility, compassion and balance.

Helpful Ideas for Teachers and Students

This book provides an introduction to a variety of techniques that may help students and teachers to self-regulate as they go through the ups and downs of a busy school day. Good resource for beginners who are curious about the basics of yoga, relaxation, feng shui, and movement in the classroom. I enjoy using the spiral and the labyrinth activities with the children I teach.

Feng Shui and Yoga for the Classroom

I enjoyed this book, even though I have not been able to incorporate many of the suggestions. I read a similar book, Feng Shui for the Classroom, which gave more detailed information on the "how" to set up your environment. I thought the suggestions on classroom management and yoga/breathing/oxygen breaks were very good. I'm still trying to find time in the day to teach some yoga moves. But just doing a swan dive and touching our feet helps a lot during the day.
