Creating Meaning

This book is an excellent resource to use in the classroom. I am a visual arts educator @ the elementary level and have found this very helpful in incorporating the other arts into my curriculumn, in particular movement. The arts are important to include across the curiculumn and you will find the examples helpful and easy to understand and incorporate.

good

The book was in exellent condition and I had no problems waiting for the book. It wasnt long after I had ordered it when the book arrived at my house. I am very pleased with my order and would order from this person again.

Want to integrate the arts? You need this book!

Claudia Cornett has created a comprehensive guide to integrating the arts into the curriculum. She gives you lots of reasoning and research to "make the case" and then goes on to devote the rest of the book to the "hows." Full of practical ideas that are very teacher-friendly, this book also provides the nuts and bolts of each art form so that general classroom teachers can get the background information needed to infuse the arts. If you are interested in bringing the arts into your classroom, this is truly the only resource you need to get started!

Creating Meaning Through Literature and the Arts

Excellent resource to all teachers, especially those classroom teachers who wish to motivate their students to greater understanding. The arts provide a tool for teachers to make relevant the content they must teach and have students retain within the classroom.

Claudia Cornett Sparks Interest

I had the pleasure of having Claudia Cornett visit my school recently. She is a very energetic lady with a storehouse of great ideas! Her discussion, which was based on her book, made a whole room of teachers laugh and act silly. We were playing sock toss to help children with word chunks. We became actors with a simple pen. This pen became: a hairbrush, a microphone, a straw...I can't wait to pick up a copy of this book and use all of the ideas in my classroom. Her energy and fire is contagious!
