Crazy Girl Chronicles: A Vanished Hope

By Asianna "Imani Fé" Joyce

Faith-based and inspired by a true story, Crazy Girl Chronicles: A Vanished Hope details the journey of a homeless first-generation college student and her many battles in the fight to succeed. Outlined with raw storytelling and poetry, it divulges the challenges of homelessness, mental health, love, and the determination to exceed beyond expectations. Based in Washington, D.C.

It follows the life of Imani F Holley, a homeless first- generation college student who attends an Ivy League school on a full scholarship. The odds rise against her when family conflict arises, deeming her responsible for her five younger siblings. Can she balance academics, love, her job, and raising children all while trying to keep her sanity? Will this sweet, resilient girl become bitter and cold?

We get a glimpse into the life of an extraordinary young woman who is unique, yet relatable to many. Stuck in between two worlds, she attempts to battle depression, grief, poverty, and the fear of success with a happy polka face - rarely letting even those closest to her see her sweat. Ultimately leaning onto her faith in God to get through, she is determined to never give up, no matter the odds stacked against her.
