A Delightful Book

Barbara Morris captures the joys, wonders and tears of owning a pet in this quick and delightful read. My husband and I recently put our cat, Carmella, to sleep. I came home from the vet and re-read the section in the book in which Morris and her husband face the same agonizing decision. I found the author's words both authentic and comforting.If you're a cat owner, or have ever been "owned" by a cat, you'll enjoy reading this tale of one couple's journeys all over the world, and how the cats they lived with made their house, wherever it was, a home.

Barbara Bradlyn Morris's CRAZY FOR CATS is a truly delightful book, one I would heartily recommend to all readers. Beautifully and evocatively written, it portrays with great sensitivity the personalities and foibles of each and every enchanting little cat that pads its way through her stories. You don't have to be a cat lover to enjoy this book. It's soul food for anyone looking for a good read.

Crazy for This Book

The back jacket says you don't have to love cats to love this book. That's absolutely true. It's such a beautifully written account of the author and her husband's relationship with their pets. And how many people are there in this world who have never, ever had a pet? But there's no question about it, cat lovers, the legions of them who are "crazy for cats," will indeed go crazy over this book. The author has managed to go right inside the heads and the hearts of the cats she and her husband have owned. When she speaks for the cats, you absolutely know that's what they'd be saying if they could. She's totally convincing. And, of course, the details of cat behavior are wonderful. But be prepared, there are sad moments as well. That comes with owning and loving animals. The author doesn't spare the reader here. But that's something animal lovers know, and it has to be part and parcel of owning one. That shouldn't keep anyone from this book. It's one you'll want to own, and probably give as gifts to all your cat-loving friends. This is one terrrific cat book. Believe it!
