Bryson Ryan is finally opening Thread & Timber Caf , a tiny machine-shop breakfast spot on Dalton's riverfront, and he would like exactly three things: a clean launch, a stable schedule, and absolutely no surprises.
Unfortunately, the long-delayed riverwalk project chooses opening week to spring back to life.
Bart Brody is a heavy-equipment operator with a reputation for being louder than necessary, more helpful than anyone asked for, and weirdly beloved by half the district. Bryson considers him an operational hazard in work boots. Bart considers Bryson a man who needs coffee, backup, and maybe someone willing to stand in the doorway and argue with the universe on his behalf.
When construction timing threatens the caf 's opening, Bryson and Bart end up in a mutual rescue situation involving espresso, excavators, municipal chaos, and entirely too much eye contact.
As the riverwalk begins to transform the district around them, Bryson has to decide whether control is really the same thing as safety-and Bart has to prove that showing up loudly still counts as showing up well.
