She holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate and a Blue Belt in Taekwondo. She taught high school Spanish and Art for Baltimore City Public Schools for 22 years from which illness forced her into early retirement. She is married to her soulmate Craig Joseph Thomas Sr. She has two children, Joshua and Christina Hall and is the grandmother of Kameha and Tru. She is a Fine Artist who has specialized in oil painting and mosaics. She runs daily with her German Shepherd, Nikita (right after a mile walk with both dogs, Max and Nikita) and swims laps once a week. She also attends weekly ballet and voice lessons.
