The Clever Coyote Survives

Answering the question of how the coyote is able to prosper requires a look into its life style and how man views this creature. This book does so in a vivid and interesting way. Coyotes are wild canines whose range has grown significantly with the advent of man and farming in the Americas. Its range now extends from Pt. Barrow in Alaska to Costa Rica in the south. The history of man's changing view of the coyote is related as is the life cycle, its family and pack life, its hunting habits and diet, and its current relationship with man. The photographs of the pups and the parents are endearing while the fate of others at the mercy of man show the other side of their lives in some areas. The clear headings along with with the results of patient photography make the information very accessible to the reader. An index assists for report or project reseach. The glossay words are in bold print in the text which allows one to quickly check for words such as "dominant", "underfur", or "regurgitate". Well-written and informative.
