A New York Times BestsellerA Selection of Black Expressions Book ClubRenowned pastor Bishop T. D. Jakes knows the struggles of real women, the disappointments that rob us of confidence and hope, and the losses that make us wonder whether it is worth going on. Now the bestselling author of Woman, Thou Art Loosed brings that compassionate insight and deeply felt wisdom to a powerful first novel about four very different women confronting the biggest challenges of their lives.
I listened to this book on cd and I enjoyed the narrator and hearing each women's stories! I liked how their lives all intertwined! Well written and the fact that a man can touch so well on how women are thinking and the things they are going through is great!

A character changing read

If you like a fast paced story with characters that reflect some of our own good and bad then this is the book to read. Tonya is like a lot of church people, just plain tired but never giving up or stopping and not seeing how their dress, face & posture reflect way more than what they say about the Lord. Michelle is like a LOT of our young people. Real tender hearted (truly she is :-)) but hiding it behind an invincable wall to keep from being hurt again and again. Her worst enemy is herself until Tonya and Shad (another co-worker) show her a different kind of love, God's love. Then there's the Boss I think we can all think of a person like her and even see some of ourselves in her. We all want our world orderly, neat and on time. But God tends to draw outside the lines we draw for ourselves. This book was so good I simply had to put it down more than once and chew the meat from God's table that I found in it. Unforgetable. Come on TD Jakes have a Cover Girls 2!
