Though we had caused alienation from God by our sin,God Himself has nevertheless provided for that relationship in His overcoming thealienation through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is God theSon. In union with Christ, we now have intimate access to God as our heavenlyFather. Scripture and prayer are the means through which we experience, apply,and enjoy that relationship. As we learn to pray, and as we learn to listen andobey the gracious overtures of God's Word, we learn to live as God's children,loving and trusting Him more fully.
