Noel's fifth book tells the stories of the brave men and women who rendersafe unexploded bombs, mines, and other explosive nasties wherever theycome to light in this country and abroad, on land and in the oceans of theworld. In the UK the Luftwaffe dropped 500,000 bombs and mines,45,000 of which did not detonate. Many were fitted with time delay fuses, and a few were duds.Casualties were high, the Army lost over 400 officers and men,the Navy 22 and the Airforce 14, mainly in the UK. World wide 153 werekilled from the three services. No accurate figures seem available to indicate the number severely injured; amputees etc. but these figures were and are still very high.Noel passed away just as this book was been printed. As with his earlier books his royalties will go to Sheffield's Weston Park Cancer Hospital.
