I love this book. I am trying to bring up my kids to believe that they can make a difference in the world. Kids can understand that small acts of kindness can be their first steps in doing this. In this crazy world where so many people are increasingly self-centered, it's great to communicate this concept to kids and to the adults who read the book to them. The book enables parents and educators to begin a conversation about improving the world one person at a time. Every parent I know who has seen this book gets the concept immediately and wants a copy of their own. I showed the book to head of our Christian Education Board at my (liberal, non-evangelical) church, and she immediately wanted it for her own kids and for church school. The reviewer from Cahners is wrong. The message is not confusing. It's clear, simple and beautifully written and illustrated. Buy this book.
