From a master of the American frontier novel, this is the stirring tale of a Russian immigrant's fight to survive on the American frontier--and to become a Blackfoot Indian legend.
James L. Reasoner has written both fiction and non-fiction books concerning the western areas. He was involved with the Wagons West series, his own Wind River series, and single westerns such as this one here. Of recent years he has been busy writing his 10 volumes on the American Civil War. With his recent release (August, 2007) of his latest Pinnacle mass market western he seems to have come full cycle. It is good to have him back writing western fiction again. This present book of a lone man among Indians, Cossack Three Ponies, came out in 1997 from Berkley mass market westerns and as far as I know it is the only western of his to ever be issued from Berkley. One non-fiction book, Draw, on western gunfighters did appear in Berkley trade, though. He spent most of his mass market western time with Harper-Collins paperbacks. Most are available from dealers. With the number of books out there from this much above average writer you will have no doubt come across his work, which is always worth the time spent. His latest western work issued in August, 2007, from Pinnacle Books is entitled: Death Head Crossing. He is an accomplished writer and the stories he writes are interesting. Semper Fi.
