VERY INFORMATIVE

I really enjoyed this book. The story line was engaging and very educational especially if you live in TX. Mr. Carter taught me a thing or two about corporate america and I thank him for that. I was glad when everything started to unfold. the twist was unexpected and more like the cherry on top of satisfying dessert. i thought the whole mess being the firing of Josh Harrington was the rape but found out it was the means to a cover up which was brillant. Mr.Carter's language and knowledge of his subject matter puts you in the mind of John Grisham. However, I gave his book 4 stars because of the storyline. it would've been 5 had it not been for the editing issues and some irrelevance to some of the characters. there were times when you didn't know who was talking and rather than telling me the characters are laughing like he had (laughing) let me feel the characters emotions to where i'll know that they are laughing simply because. i can see this book being turned into a movie with Will Smith as Josh Harrington, Hill Harper or Terrance Howard. it would have to be someone with depth to portray Josh Harrington as he's bought down to his lowest.

Cover up

Josh Harrington has everything going for him, a job he loves, he gets along well with his co-workers and he believes that he's found the woman of his dreams. As one of the top managers in the company, he's burning the midnight oil on a major deal that is certain to land his company millions. Will his self-assurance backfire? With so many twists and turns the journey to achieving Josh's American dream gives betrayal an entirely new meaning. There is someone working to ruin Josh, willing to risk it all, but why? I guarantee, once you've read CORPORATE DECEIT, your own paranoia will have you wondering if this could happen to you.

(RAW Rating: 3.5 - Corporate Deceit

As shown in Richard Carter's debut novel, CORPORATE DECEIT, people often have a tendency to base their self-worth on the beliefs of society. Josh Harrington is one of the top performers in his company and couldn't wish for anything more. He enjoys his job, has a beautiful girlfriend, and gets along with those around him. Just as he's on the verge of finalizing the biggest deal of his career, the rug is pulled out from under him and he's fired, with no real explanation. Wallowing in self-pity, Josh shuts himself off from his friends, his girlfriend, and even his former co-workers. When finally surfacing from his turmoil, he finds information which paints him in a negative light, and decides to try to fight how he's being portrayed by his old company. He decides enough is enough and takes legal actions against them. Stunted at first by finding a big enough law firm to battle with the conglomerate, Josh has to take a step back and rethink not only the fight he is about to begin, but his life as a whole. He agrees to let a small firm with an established network of lawyers represent him and puts everything on the line to save his reputation. What he encounters runs the gamut of fraudulent activities, greed, jealousy, and revenge. Richard Carter is new on the literary scene, but has written a book worthy of the big screen. The style of writing is a bit difficult to follow--mainly the narrative should really be dialogue and the story jumps around quite a bit. Also, some work is needed editorially to fine tune the structure and flow of the story. Initially it took me a while to adjust to the style, but once I did, I thoroughly enjoyed the story. Even with these flaws, the storyline of CORPORATE DECEIT was enthralling and the message of big corporations out to get the little guy was revealing, and not far from what I perceive to be the truth. Also, I enjoyed the moral theme that runs throughout the book. This is a must read for thriller/suspense fans. Reviewed by Tee C. Royal of The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers

Uphill Battle

Joshua Alexander Harrington of central Texas exemplifies what corporate Americans should all be like. He's more than 100 % committed, hard working, educated, positive and driven. FINALLY he was at the peak in his career where he was going to coagulate his continued rise to the very TOP. Before Josh has the chance to bask in his wonder, the vultures are stirring around to hold him back. Through all of this Josh will begin to question his fate, his love, his self as well as the law. Can Josh prevail? CORPORATE DECEIT is bursting with fraud, treachery and self doubt. As Josh tries to restore himself he must first learn his own self worth. Richard Carter does a wonderful job itemizing CORPORATE DECEIT. My only complaint is again the editing. In certain areas it became complicated; rest assured the particulars will surely keep you vested. I absolutely recommended for those readers in search for something dissimilar. Reviewed by: Crystal

You'll never see it coming...the ending that is!!!

Corporate Deceit is exactly what the title says. This book follows the main character Josh Harrington, a hard working individual who believes he has finally reached his way up the corporate ladder. But not if anyone else can help it. All Josh's dreams will soon come tumbling down in the blink of an eye. I don't think you've seen backstabbing and betrayal like the author Richard Carter describes it in this novel. If you like a good read that will have you flipping page after page, then look no more. This author's debut into the literary scene will soon have Hollywood saying, "Lights, camera, action!"
