This book traces the route of Coronado's Expedition directly from the Spaniards' own descriptions of the land through which they passed almost five hundred years ago. This route has remained unknown to this very day although the journey was made by thousands of Spanish conquistadors, their Indian allies and their servants as well as several thousand head of livestock. Drexler is able to combine the sparse information available from the Spaniards' accounts with his own extensive knowledge of the southwest to identify geographic features of sites visited by the Expedition. Employing the help of modern satellite images and topographic maps, he has been able to find a very likely route of the Coronado Expedition to C bola.
