Coping with Sorrow on the Loss of Your Pet is a compassionate, comprehensive guide to help you deal with the heartbreaking pain of losing a beloved animal companion. It shows you that you're not... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I bought the "Third Edition, Expanded and updated". Publication date, 2015. The title of this book really should have been "Preparing for the Loss of your Pet". Calling this book "Coping with Sorrow on the Loss of Your Pet" is misleading. It makes it sound like this book will give comfort to your heart after your pet passes. But there is a whole chapter about deciding about euthanasia. Another about choosing a final resting place. And how to cope with the loss. Picking up this book after you have lost your pet and decided how to help them transition, and what to do with their body, will not help. You have already done those things.
And there is a lot of repetition as well. This book could have been tightened up and made more concise.
Did this book have an editor, because there were many of the same mistakes - repeated sentences.
For example,
Page 105
"I take the ashes up to the hills or river and scatter them myself. I wouldn't want to keep them, because I wouldn't myself. I wouldn't want to keep them, because I wouldn't should be out in the air and land where they originated and free, not in a jar."

Nor do you know whether the pet is gone forever or will reappear, whether it is dead and at peace or suffering will reappear, whether it is dead and at peace or suffering or is wandering the streets as a stray.

Remember, too, that if your pet does escape, it may not come when a strange caretaker calls, so try to make sure it and your strange caretaker calls, so try to make sure it and your caretaker are on good terms before you leave.
/Those are just a few examples. There are more, especially towards the middle and end of the book. If there is ever a fourth edition, the title of this book needs to change to "Preparing for the Loss of your Pet", and a new editor needs to go over every paragraph with a fine tooth comb.
