Given the multidimensional nature of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which requires interdisciplinary care and a significant investment of time, the implementation of this study appears to be essential. Numerous studies already conducted on the subject of training demonstrate that, in terms of the working hours of doctors and nursing staff in an inpatient setting, significant cost-related savings can be expected, for example through a reduction in hospital stays. Training on the correct use of various metered-dose inhalers represents a first step towards minimising errors in the administration of inhaled therapeutics. Furthermore, this results in significant cost reductions in the area of inpatient care. The training is delivered by a team comprising doctors and physiotherapists with respiratory training, in the form of courses. Expected training outcomes for patients and the healthcare system: improved quality of life through symptom reduction, increased physical activity, enhanced theoretical knowledge, reduced hospital stays.
