Cooking Up Memories

This book originally started as just a list of recipes from my grandmother (Mema). After she passed away, all the family was asking for Mema's recipes for this and that. Suddenly, the project morphed into this compilation of more than just our favorite recipes from her kitchen. I expanded the book to include the wonderful recipes we grew up with and some new ones I have learned along the way as I now have my own family. These recipes are our favorite Southern style recipes and include some of everyone's "old favorites of the south". From appetizers to deserts, these are fun and easy recipes with more fun facts for newer cooks to help with some of the "why's" behind the "what we're doing" when we we cook. I've learned some, but not all, and am learning as I branch out into more kinds of foods and more styles of cooking. What a wonderful journey. My husband is my "Quality Assurance Supervisor" and is always excited to taste my new recipes. I don't profess to be an expert, I just know that I love to cook and I love to eat. I hope you enjoy these recipes as much as we do.
