When I was younger my Momma didn't let me in the kitchen, when she was cooking and I can't say I blame her. I was for lack of a better description...hyper. She was the typical cook, a little salt, a little pepper (maybe), my sister Teresa, on the other hand is nothing less than a gourmet chef. I mean not officially; but I don't know that even the most sophisticated palette could distinguish the difference between her homemade cheesecake and one from a five star eatery. My husband's family are all great cooks. Like gravy from scratch, THEY EVEN make THEIR own BREAD. I have always been intimidated by these women in the kitchen, and I have told myself I'm just not...that. I digress. So, whether it be lack of common sense or perpetual optimism, I made a point to learn as much as I could in the kitchen and tell NO ONE...well until now. I am going to apologize in advance to my Sister Teresa because I know this will be a mere insult to her gifts. However, I have put together some recipes that are affordable, unique and maybe even bordering on fun. Bon Appetit (or whatever they say in France)
