"I..." Smokey began his sentence, and trailed off, thinking what he was going to say might not be helpful.

"...I didn't get you wet food!" Smokey told her loudly so she could hear him over the ear-splitting howls Cookie let out.

"WHAAAAAAAT!?" Cookie screamed.

Clearly, that was the wrong thing to say to Cookie.

"I mean that I didn't buy you wet food for Christmas!" Smokey said. "Maybe Santa Paws was the one who brought the empty box!"

Smokey suddenly realized that wasn't the right thing to say either.

"THEN SANTA PAWS WILL PAY!" Cookie hissed loudly.
