Since our human nature consists of two elements, spiritual and sensual, the concept of pleasure is expressed in two forms: one of them has a purely spiritual character, a certain "itch" that seems pleasant - even if it was caused by sensory perceptions and arousal (passions), - and he bears the name: "popularity"; another type of pleasure is based solely on sensory excitations, and from the very concept of pleasure borrowed its name: "pursuit of pleasures" (original "pleasure-love") 642. Accepting a snake - "love of money" as a reptile on the ground - they emit a lot of truly sharp and deadly arrows 643 into seduced immortal souls. These are the first-born offspring of the ancient serpent, which characterize the mother 644 that stores them in themselves; so, here, natural snakes obey all the laws of nature (by the fact that the creatures of the snake destroy their parent) 645; the same ones, which are contrary to her (souls) nature, nevertheless, tend to ruin their parent. They dwell together, as it were, in one lair and, alas, rest, alas, in the soul of any of the ruined, with their nasty combinations always creating the abomination of even more impure murderous passions.
