Jack Olivetti, and his prot g , Meredith Jones, have discovered a new treatment process incorporating a combination of laboratory measurements and computer modeling. The treatment is individualized for each patient. The Dean of the Medical School and his associates in a local BioTech Company, AVARTEC, want to discredit the discovery and take it over themselves. Meredith's grandmother develops ovarian cancer, which forces the investigators to cut corners in moving their discovery into clinical trials. The CEO of AVARTEC sabotages the clinical trial allowing several patients to die in the process. To keep this from getting out, the CEO hires professional killers to eliminate Jack and Meredith culminating in a chase through the otherwise deserted AVARTEC laboratories.
