Contribution to the study of valuation options for the species Arbutus unedo L. in western Algeria

Arbutus unedo L, commonly known as Arbutus, is a species known for its ecological and economic importance throughout its range, particularly in Algeria. It is of great interest in maintaining biodiversity, which is why its preservation is so important today. However, its wealth of active ingredients and natural substances, which confer therapeutic virtues on it, deserves to be studied and valorized, by characterizing its phytochemical compounds, and identifying their chemical profiles and antioxidant activities. Such a study would highlight the plant's ethnobotanical and industrial interest, and we therefore propose its domestication and cultivation as an industrial crop. In this context, the present work makes a contribution to the development of the species Arbutus unedo L, an Ericaceae from western Algeria.
