Urged by his daughter, who loved the stories that the author and his brother told when ever they got together, he was told; "Dad, when you're gone, so will be all the stories; you've got to record them". The author, a third generation Californian, recaps his life by telling stories about events and happening that occurred during his 80 plus years. His adventures include his attraction to Mt. Shasta, which he climbed on his 16th birthday, his love of skiing, fly fishing and 35 years of flying airplanes which started in the Air Force flying America's first jet fighters. Later in life he and his brother attempted to reopen an old gold mine that makes an interesting read. The book, while it may be interesting to non-family members, was written to let Mr. Erhart's future generations know what their grandfather, or great-grandfather, or great-great-grandfather did, and what it was like way back in the 1990's. The author ends his book by listing a few changes he thinks our government needs to make, and even makes some predictions about the future, and as he says" "for future generations to laugh about, or perhaps, say " old grandpa sure was right!"
