Contract to Kill: A Ferd Kincade Mystery

By Kari Trumbo

Four victims. Four playing cards. No apparent connection.

Ferd Kincade has only weeks left in Piper's Ridge before she's expected to return to her old job in Cody. But while helping Detective Duke Campose tackle a mountain of neglected paperwork, she discovers three unsolved murders scattered across Wyoming.

Different towns. Different investigators. Different victims.

But every dead man was found with a playing card, and there appears to be a pattern.

When another man is murdered in Piper's Ridge-and another card appears-Ferd and Duke can no longer dismiss the cases as out of their jurisdiction. Someone is choosing these victims for a reason. The problem is, every suspect seems to have an alibi, every connection leads nowhere, and the one thread tying the victims together makes less sense the closer Ferd looks.

Then the killer makes a bold move.

This time, Ferd and Duke are close enough to see it happen.

As the investigation tightens, Ferd is running out of time in Piper's Ridge-and trouble from Cody lurks much too close for comfort.

To stop a killer hiding in plain sight, Ferd will have to figure out what connects the victims before The Playing Card Killer can strike again.
