A good, concise introduction

This book is well-written and interesting, providing a reasonable amount of detail without getting too bogged down. A few of its examples seem slightly dated at this point (5 years is a long time in the movie industry), but it's still relevant for film students and those interested in the history and direction of contemporary cinema.
