good introduction to rhetorical criticism!

A strong general introduction to political discourse of the late 20th century. The speeches included address a variety of political issues from human rights to specific U.S. policies. The book's biggest weakness is probably that it focuses solely on political speeches to the exclusion of speeches on more general social issues. The rhetorical analyses included provide a readable, readily accessible introduction to rhetorical criticism from several perspectives.
