Moving back from Sydney to Melbourne gave James a whole new world to explore. Whilst Sydney provided him a burst of adventures, he was only delighted to return to his old, familiar hunting ground.

However, this time, life was a little different. He had returned with his partner and so would have less degree of freedom in certain aspects. One of the biggest losses remained that he no longer had free access to pick from the local op shop in an affluent suburb in Sydney, where some nights he could pick dozens of dresses, jeans, skirts, lingerie, shirts, shorts and shoes of good quality. And he had kept them.

The silver lining was that real estate was cheaper in Melbourne. So from a one bedroom apartment, they moved back to his four bedroom townhouse, which he had kept vacant all these years. The storage units also became cheaper. So, for the same price that he had paid in Sydney, he now could afford a woman-cave of womanly things, and most importantly, a private, very private room for him to play out his gender affirmations.

Consolidation is the first book in the series Her by Day, following the prequel series of ten books Her by Night, continues to track how James, an expert closet crossdresser, reestablished life, amid Covid-19, into a fruitful, trans-life person and the journey in between. James would learn much more about sexuality and the various spectrums, that he became comfortable with the idea that he was not alone, and continue to question further his membership in the LGBTQI community.
