This book is a must read for any serious student of social policy in America. Written by some of the most accomplished social scientists in their respective fields, this book addresses many of the various underlying forces that may or may not moderate the effects of poverty on child well-being. Additionally, factors such as the duration and timing of poverty are also addressed. I reference this book frequently.
