Conner's Test

Twelve year old Conner wakes up in the back of an SUV. His head feels like it's splitting open and his parents, held in place by their seat belts, are way too still. Fighting terror, Conner tries to protect them by shading the windshield with willow branches. He looks up into the mountains surrounding him and knows nobody will be able to see the vehicle.He decides to follow the rushing creek to get out of the mountains and find help. Conner finds his backpack where it was thrown from the SUV and starts his flight through the wilderness. Will he find help in time? Is it already too late to save his parents?
