Concerning Christian Liberty

By Martin Luther

Martin Luther's "Concerning Christian Liberty," a cornerstone of the Reformation, explores the heart of Christian faith and freedom. This pivotal work, including Luther's letter to Pope Leo X, articulates a revolutionary vision of religious liberty and challenges traditional theological structures. Luther argues that salvation comes through faith, not works, liberating believers from the constraints of religious law.

A defining text of the 16th century, "Concerning Christian Liberty" remains profoundly relevant for understanding the historical context of the Reformation and the ongoing dialogue surrounding faith, freedom, and the individual's relationship with God. Luther's powerful prose ignited a movement that reshaped Europe and continues to influence Christian thought today. This edition offers a clear and accessible entry point into one of the most important theological works of Western civilization.
