This text is for students of introductory physics, this text offers an overview of the discipline which focuses on concepts and critical thinking rather than number crunching. It presents physics in a straightforward language, using analogies and mental imagery based on real life situations. Mathematical formulae and calculations appear as a footnote on the page as a reference aid, and to help students see the connections between maths and science.
I was kind of skeptical about this website because it’s much cheaper then Amazon but I got my book today and I’m just happy I didn’t pay so much and the book arrived in less then a week.

This book along with its supplements is a great program for both honors level and lower level students. The readability level is perfect and the lab ideas has inspired me. Both my students and I love it.
Every physics student should read this.

As a new teacher returning to physics for the first time since engineering school ten years ago, I found this book to be a wonderful resource. The analogies that Hewitt uses are extremely helpful in explaining concepts to students. The book was the district chosen book in a lower level physics class that I no longer teach, but I still use it in my honors class as required reading to insure that students understand the concepts before we get to the math.
