A Great Book from a Great Teacher

Dr. Oberkrieser was passionate about Chemistry and his book is a reflection of this passion. I had Dr. Oberkrieser in High School in Orchard Park and although he was a tough teacher, he knew nearly everything and made Chemistry both fascinating and accessible. This book covers most concepts and moves through the basics of molecules and elements, on through to valences and their calculations. I suspect if you read this book prior to taking any class, you'd get more out of the labs, and the class a mere "review" of what you know.

An Outstanding Chemistry Textbook

I first purchased this book in high school in 1982 because I was having in trouble in Chemistry. This is by far the best basic book on Chemistry I have ever read. I does an outstanding job explaining basic chemistry to the lay person. This book helped me understand chemistry so well that I was able to validate out of college chemistry two years later without reading the book again.
