Concept of God in Islam

Religion is one of the important branches in the study of philosophy. It makes us know the truth of who the Supreme Being is. It is in fact a way of submitting the will of mankind, seeking forgiveness of man's faults, seeking for protecting people from the harmful, and a special way for an eternal salvation. Over and above, it tries to explain the existence of the creatures of God, and fundamentally, existence of mankind who follows God, and the relationship with Him. Religions have their own theological views which may be similar or dissimilar, despite having their essence in philosophy. Religions can be categorized as traditional religions and world religions. The present work is limited to the study of Islam, which is one of the world religions. Islam is one of the world religions having a large population of followers numerically next to Christianity. Syyid Abul Ala Maududi clearly mentions about Islam as:

"It is an Arabic word and connotes submission, surrender and obedience. As a religion, Islam stands for complete submission and obedience to Allah"
